SYSTEM COAX./TWINAXIAL INTRODUCTION TO IBM CABLING SYSTEM The IBM cabling system is based around a 2 pairs screened cable and self shorting data connector. It provides a structured approach to network cabling, its ability to support a range of topologies such as logical ring, star or daisy chain, means that by correct selection of baluns* the cabling will support a number of different networks. It can also replace the need of different cable types such as Twinaxial and RG62 coaxial which are typically found in AS400 and IBM3270 system installations. |
